The fight for fair and equal representation in the workplace is the core of the Labor Movement. As a leading political organization, the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades (IUPAT) works to ensure that local, state and federal decision makers, in the United States, understand and undertake our cause.
IUPAT District Council #5 is a non-partisan organization, supporting pro-worker candidates who understand and work in unison with us on issues that affect our members and their families. We won’t be labeled and we don’t tell our members how to vote. The AFL-CIO has named the IUPAT as the Army of Black and Gold and District Council #5 is part of that army.
We encourage our members to be active in the political arena, helping us have a voice in Olympia, Salem, Boise and Washington D.C. If you would like to become active with District Council 5 please contact one of the following individuals:
