Who are the Glaziers?
Glaziers fabricate, repair, install and service many types of commercial and residential glazing systems. Glaziers fabricate, service, repair and install several different types of doors such as all glass doors, revolving doors, mall sliders, automatic doors and several other types of aluminum framed doors complete with all of the related hardware and closers.
A large part of the trade involves the building envelope and the use of flashings, claddings, waterproof membranes and caulking of several varieties. Glaziers assemble and install glass display cases, shower and tub enclosures and they install mirrors.
The glazing trade requires a fair degree of strength and agility as there is plenty of heavy lifting, bending, twisting and climbing. Safe work habits are essential because of the risks involved in glazing. The glazier may find him or her self at ground level one minute and several stories high the next.
