Local 64

Welcome to I.U.P.A.T. DC#5…Local #64 in Tacoma Washington.  We are the South End Puget Sound’s Local for Painters, Drywall Finishers and Shipyard Workers.  Currently housed inside the Carpenters’ Building at 1322 South Fawcett Avenue in Tacoma; Local #64 is on the first floor in office number 12.  Normal hours of operation are from 9:15 a.m. until Noon, then from 1:00p.m. until 5:00p.m.

Besides the two Master Paint and Drywall Agreements Local #64 has Maintenance Contracts with the Tacoma School District #10, Simpson Tacoma Kraft Mill, Tacoma Housing Authority and Evergreen Custom Homes (MK Constructs).  There are three Marine Industrial Contractors also in the Tacoma area…J.M. Martinac Shipbuilding, Marine Industries Northwest and Pioneer Industries.

Local #64 has been a part of the city for many years, having been chartered on May 16th in 1900 the Local has been at the tip of the spear for Community outreach and the ever challenging fight for Local area standards.  Local #64 has been recognized by many in the community as the exception to the rule when it comes to volunteerism; the members have been active in many regular functions…from Paint-Tacoma-Beautiful to the United Way’s Day of Caring.  The Local’s Membership is and always has been a vital part of the city’s greater community message.

Local 64’s jurisdiction is Pierce, Thurston, Clallam, Kitsap, Mason, Lewis, Jefferson, Gray’s Harbor and part of King County (south of Auburn).
